Coveted Korean infielder Jung-Ho Kang will be playing in the majors in 2015, but it's not quite clear yet which team has the winning bid to bring him to the States.
According to Chris Cotillo of SBNation, the Philadelphia Phillies appear to be one of two favorites for Kang's services with the identity of the winning team unknown:
One industry source with knowledge of Korea predicted that the Phillies or Nationals could be the frontrunners at this point. Philadelphia has focused some scouting on Kang in the recent past, and has an opening in the middle infield after trading Jimmy Rollins to the Dodgers during the Winter Meetings.
Other teams that Cotillo names as still in the running for Kang's services are the Los Angeles, Pittsburgh Pirates, and Chicago White Sox. However, Philadelphia's stated need in the infield may have prompted management to bid high on Kang and ultimately win his services.
