There’s only three late afternoon games in Week 2 of the NFL, and none will be bigger than the one taking place in Philadelphia. The Eagles will host the Dallas Cowboys in what will be the most expensive game at Lincoln Financial Field since at least 2010.
According to TiqIQ, the current average price for Eagles tickets against the Cowboys is $411.90 with a get-in price of $179. No other game since TiqIQ started keeping track of data in 2010 has averaged over $400 on the secondary market. The closest was last season’s game against the Cowboys, which averaged $394.83. Including those two games, the three most expensive Eagles home games and four of the top six have come against the Cowboys. Last year’s Week 15 meeting on Sunday Night Football with both teams entering the game with a 9-4 record had an average of $394.83. A Week 7 meeting with the Cowboys in 2013 had an average of $379.84. Unfortunately for Eagles fans who paid big money to witness those two games, the Cowboys came away victorious in both meetings.
New Orleans is the team between those Dallas games, with this year’s Week 5 matchup and a 2011 Wild Card Game ranking in the top five of Philadelphia’s most expensive NFL tickets.
Philadelphia comes into the game with an 0-1 record after a failed comeback attempt against the Atlanta Falcons on Monday night. Dallas was more fortunate on a comeback attempt at home against the New York Giants on Sunday night with a last minute touchdown for a 27-26 win.
The game is 75% more expensive than the season average for Eagles tickets on the secondary market this season. Following the games against the Cowboys and Saints, no other game has an average above $300 this year.
