In this Eagles news update, the Philadelphia Eagles' Darren Sproles has always been slightly underappreciated for the explosiveness he has brought to the table during his entire NFL career.
After becoming the first player in NFL history to top 150 receiving yards, 25 rushing yards, and 25 punt return yards in the same game during Monday's victory over the Colts, the 31-yard multipurpose back made a definitive statement to those who have doubted him in the past.
“It’s just telling some people that I still have it,” Sproles said to Philly.com. “It’s still me. That’s the reason I do it.”
Sproles has never been voted into a Pro Bowl, even though he has the most all-purpose yards of any player since he entered the NFL in 2005. While that's a travesty in its own right, the fire still burns in Sproles - and brightly.
In fact, head coach Chip Kelly has deemed him "the most fit guy on the team," which says a lot about the veteran's work ethic in his 10th NFL season.
