The Penn State Nittany Lions are in the middle of spring practice as they prepare for their upcoming spring game, but that doesn't mean head coach James Franklin has taken a step back on the recruiting trail. Here are all the latest news and rumors surrounding Penn State football's recruiting:
Penn State makes positive impression during four-star CB's visit
Four-star cornerback Ambry Thomas (Detroit, MI) made an unofficial visit to Happy Valley late last week, and he was blown away.
"One of the best visits so far," Thomas said. "They're getting a for sure official visit. The coaches made me feel like it's home and the people and the girls stood out a lot. Plus it has great academics."
Thomas is ranked as the No. 8 cornerback and No. 107 overall prospect in the country. Penn State is competing with Big Ten rivals Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State for his services, along with LSU.
OL target plans to make commitment next month
Three-star offensive lineman Michael Miranda (Stow, OH) is one of Penn State's top targets in the 2016 class, and they'll have a chance to make another impression before he makes a decision.
Miranda revealed that he plans to visit Penn State this weekend, and expects to make a decision by the end of April - though he will definitely make an announcement by the end of May.
The 6'4", 285-pounder is ranked as the No. 20 offensive guard and No. 591 overall prospect in the country. Penn State is competing with Virginia, Northwestern, Pitt, Syracuse and Missouri.
