The Penn State Nittany Lions already have one of the best 2017 recruiting classes in the country, but head coach James Franklin is still trying to add to that. With just over a week from National Signing Day on Feb. 1, here are the three best uncommitted recruits that the Nittany Lions could still land.
3) 3-star WR Joshua Palmer
Palmer (Fort Lauderdale, FL) was committed to Stanford for six months, then decommitted on Jan. 13. Penn State offered him a scholarship on Jan. 15, just two days later, and the Nittany Lions are rising fast and are the biggest threat to steal him from the Bruins, who are his perceived leader. It remains to be seen if he'll take an official visit next weekend.
2) 3-star DT Corey Bolds
The No. 44 defensive tackle in the country was thought to be deciding between Rutgers and Michigan, but Penn State has come on hot late in his recruitment. Bolds (Paramus, NJ) took his official visit to PSU on Nov. 5 and has been in constant contact with the coaching staff since.
1) 4-star CB Tariq Castro-Fields
Penn State has made Castro-Fields (Upper Marlboro, MD) a top priority, and it's paying off. Members of the coaching staff have visited him twice since Jan. 12, and he took his official visit to Happy Valley the weekend of Jan. 13. They are trending up more than everyone else, and it'll be a shock if he ends up anywhere else.
