The Orlando Magic have selected Victor Oladipo with the second overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft.
Offensively, Oladipo plays bigger than his size. At just 6' 4" and 213 pounds, Oladipo still managed 13.6 points and 6.3 rebounds for Indiana last year, grabbing rebounds expected out of a power forward, not a two-guard. That intensity translates to the defensive end, where Oladipo is as good as they come for a guard prospect and hounded opponents all year with 2.2 steals per game. In the NBA he could realistically guard any of the three permitter positions. He has an effective jumper and decent ball skills, but lacks the range expected out of a guard in the NBA. His future success will depend on that.
