Texas Tech is on the rise.
But, new coach Joey McGuire needs to handle a recurring issue — quarterback.
Since the departure of Patrick Mahomes in 2016, Texas Tech has not had a quarterback start every game in a season. McGuire plans on not allowing that to happen.
“I've told everybody in Lubbock and our fan base, we're not going to rotate quarterbacks, but, you're going to see packages with possibly all three of them,” McGuire said during Big 12 Media Days.
Going into the 2022 season, Texas Tech has a three-way battle at quarterback between Tyler Shough, Donovan Smith and Behren Morton.
