Ohio State men's basketball | Assist-minded Buckeyes beat Minnesota in Big Ten opener

Ohio State shared the basketball better than it has all season, assisting on a season-high 24 of 38 field goals in a 78-63 win against Minnesota in the Big Ten opener for both teams.

Freshman point guard JaQuan Lyle, who had no more than three assists in any of his last six games, led the way with a career-high 13 assists. It tied him with Kelvin Ramsey, who had 13 at Northwestern on Jan. 12, 1980, for the fifth-most in single-game Ohio State history.

Junior forward Marc Loving led the Buckeyes (9-5, 1-0) with 20 points, while Keita Bates-Diop had 13 and Jae’Sean Tate added 10.
