SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. — On a team lacking experienced seniors, particularly at receiver, Dontre Wilson and Corey Smith had high hopes for this Ohio State season.
Those were mostly dashed. Wilson dealt with a lingering foot issue and muffed his way out of the punt-return job. Smith suffered a broken wrist in practice before the Oklahoma game and has been no more than a bit player.
But now Wilson and Smith say they are healthy and eager to play a significant role tonight when Ohio State faces Clemson in the Fiesta Bowl.
“I’m definitely going to make an impact,” Smith said.
