While Athletics trade rumors are currently the focal point of the buzz surrounding the team, today's claiming of former Oakland Athletics starter Brad Mills by the Toronto Blue Jays also has intriguing implications in the AL playoff race.
Here's FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal with the scoop:
#BlueJays claim LHP Brad Mills.

Last month, the Internet had a field day with the news that the A's had purchased Mills from the Milwaukee Brewers for one measly dollar.
Mills only got three starts in with the A's before being designated for assignment. The Toronto Blue Jays, looking everywhere they can for pitching help as they try to stay afloat in the AL East and AL Wild Card races, were happy on Thursday to take him off Oakland's hands.
The 29-year-old lefty has been serviceable at best at the Major League level, doing most of his best work with the Milwaukee Brewers' Triple-A affiliate this season (1.56 ERA, 77/18 K/BB ratio in 75 innings pitched.)
