The Notre Dame Fighting Irish have turned all of their attention to the recruiting trail after wrapping up spring practice, and head coach Brian Kelly is certainly making waves. Here's all the latest news and rumors surrounding Notre Dame football recruiting:
Irish visit 5-star WR
Notre Dame visited perhaps their top target in the 2017 class in five-star wideout Donovan Peoples-Jones (Detroit, MI) on Thursday, marking their second visit with the prized recruit in the past week. He was in South Bend over the weekend to watch Notre Dame's spring game.
The Irish are one of the four favorites to land him, but seem to be behind Michigan, Michigan State and Ohio State. Clearly, Notre Dame is making a point to get back in the forefront of his recruitment.
Notre Dame visits top 2018 QB
Four-star quarterback Phil Jurkovec (Gibsonia, PA), the top-rated dual threat quarterback in the 2018 class, received a visit from Notre Dame offensive coordinator Mike Sanford on Thursday. The Irish are the odds-on favorite to land the coveted QB due to his relationship with Sanford.
Notre Dame ramping up pursuit of 2018 4-star DL
The Fighting Irish have placed an increased emphasis on defensive lineman Leonard Taylor (Springfield, OH), the No. 22 overall prospect in the 2018 class, despite him having already committed to Michigan. However, Taylor admitted he still has interest in the Irish.
"[I like] their graduation rate of young black men like me," he told 247sports. "A lot can happen in the next two years."
