The New York Yankees have completed blockbuster trade with the Chicago White Sox. Todd Frazier was a healthy scratch tonight and it was the precursor to a deal with the Yankees. The White Sox officially announced the deal late Tuesday night.
#WhiteSox have acquired Blake Rutherford, Ian Clarkin, Tito Polo & Tyler Clippard from NYY in exchange for Frazier, Kahnle & Robertson.

Rutherford is the Yankees' No. 3 prospect and the No. 30 overall in the MLB. P Ian Clarkin is No. 19 in the Yankees system. Tyler Clippard is the lone big league player heading to Chicago. He's struggled, especially of late, with a 4.95 ERA and a 1.29 WHIP. Polo, an outfielder, isn't among the team's top 30 prospects. By adding Rutherford, the White Sox have 10 of baseball's top 70 prospects.
Frazier fills a big hole for the Yankees at one of third corner infield spots. The rental is hitting just .207 this year, with 16 homers and 44 RBIs. However, he's upped his play of late closer to his career average of .247. Frazier is a third baseman, but can also play first base if that's where the Yankees want him.
Robertson has been the White Sox's closer, but would likely move into a set-up role. Robertson has 13 saves, a 2.70 ERA and a .96 WHIP. Kahnle, also a righty, was actually drafted by the Yankees in 2010. He was later snagged by the Rockies in the Rule 5 Draft and eventually dealt to Chicago. He has a 2.50 ERA and a .972 WHIP.
