WHO'S UP -- The New York Mets start a rookie on the mound for the second straight game. This time, native Long Islander Steven Matz will commute from his childhood home in Stony Brook to Citi Field for Game 4 of the World Series. The first pitch is scheduled for 8:07 p.m. ET on Saturday.
Noah Syndergaard and Matz become the first duo to each start three games in the same postseason in major league history, according to the Elias Sports Bureau. This is only the second time in history two first-year major league pitchers started for a team in the same World Series, joining Marty Bystrom and Bob Walk of the 1980 Philadelphia Phillies.
