New York Mets pitcher Jacob deGrom was named the NL Rookie of the Year by the Baseball Writer's Association of America.
DeGrom went 9-6 on the season with a 2.69 ERA and 144 strikeouts in 140.1 innings pitched.
Billy Hamilton of the Cincinnati Reds and Kolten Wong of the St. Louis Cardinals finished second and third, respectively.
DeGrom was named NL Rookie of the Month twice and tied a MLB record by striking out the first eight batters he faced against the Miami Marlins on September 15.
