Carmelo Anthony passed another Hall of Famer on Saturday, jumping —limping really — ahead of Gary Payton for 30th place on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.
That’s a lot of points but it’s also a lot of miles on 31-year-old legs and Anthony is feeling the impact. Eleven months removed from having his season cut short due to left knee surgery, Anthony is again experiencing soreness in the same knee where he suffered a torn patellar tendon.
Following Saturday’s loss to the Charlotte Hornets, Anthony told reporters that the discomfort is minor and that he will be available for Tuesday’s home game against Kevin Durant and Oklahoma City.
