The NBA Draft is over and the New York Knicks have turned their complete attention to the start of free agency on July 1. The Knicks have cap space and will try to add at least one more big name this offseason. They've already swung a trade for Derrick Rose, but now need to fill out the rest of the roster. Here are all the latest Knicks rumors and news and you need to know:
Durant's Not Joining The Knicks?
The Knicks, like so many teams around the NBA, want Kevin Durant. But the chances of Durant joining the Knicks aren't looking great.
"So Golden State and Miami become the only real players," an agent told The Oklahoman. "It's too hard to justify a move to Los Angeles (Lakers) or New York because they are not close to winning. Houston's out."
It sounds like the addition of Rose to New York isn't going to be enough to lure Durant. However, Rose's presence could help the Knicks with another free agent.
Knicks Want Noah?
Derrick Rose wants Joakim Noah to join him on the Knicks, and he's reportedly the team's top target.
"Oh, I want him, he knows that. I think his family knows that," Rose told SNYTV. "I think everyone knows that. Even last night I was talking to him about it and it's the same way. He's in a position where he got injured twice last year. It was his contract year and he's got to figure what he wants to do so I can't get mad with the decision he will make soon or whenever he makes it. He knows that I would want to play with him."
The Knicks need a big, as they dealt Robin Lopez in the trade that netted Rose. The New York Post has reported Noah is Knicks' top target, although how much money Noah wants will be a factor.
Jamal Crawford Wants To Return?
Los Angeles Clippers guard Jamal Crawford might be open to a return to New York. He's a free agent and told the NY Daily News that he's fond of New York.
"I'm not talking about any one team but everyone knows how I feel about New York," Crawford said. "I really enjoyed my time there."
Despite Crawford being the reigning sixth man of the year and the Knicks badly needing shooting guard and bench help, Phil Jackson doesn't have Crawford at the top of list, reports the NY Post. But if Crawford decides he wants to play in New York, perhaps Jackson will change his mind.
