New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony is having a good season (21.0 ppg, 7.0 rpg) while the Knicks have emerged as legitimate playoff contenders after a great start to the season. However, New York has struggled of late, losing three games in a row and seven of their last nine games to fall to 10-13 on the year.
Anthony expressed his disappointment with the recent streak after the Knicks lost to the Mavs on Monday:
“Losing is frustrating. I don’t want this to be an ongoing situation or an ongoing feeling where we have to come into the locker room and explain why we’re losing basketball games.”
According to ESPN's Ian Begley, Anthony has implored his teammates to play faster and get easy baskets in transition, feeling like they were "stuck in the half court" too often.
During their early season success, New York was playing at one of the fastest paces in the league. Now, they rank just 23rd in pace.
The Knicks will try to get back on track tonight against the Sacramento Kings (10:30 pm ET, TNT).
