In today's edition of Jets rumors, the New York Jets are looking to continue a trend which has emerged in the past four drafts -- looking to defense over offense in the first round of the 2014 NFL Draft.
In a mailbag for ESPN.com, Jets writer Rich Cimini weighed in on what he thinks the New York Jets might do with their first round pick: "I think Darqueze Dennard is the best fit because of his toughness and man-to-man cover skills, but I'd be surprised if they traded up to get him."
"Dennard isn't an elite prospect because he doesn't have top catch-up speed, which will prevent him from cracking the top 10. I can see him in the 10 to 18 range. But there are two or three other talented corners who should be available at 18, which leads me to believe they won't trade up."
Darqueze Dennard has been linked to several teams in the first round of May's NFL Draft, and very well could be off the board before the Jets pick.
However, the Jets could also try and address their need at wide receiver in the first round, so take everything as conjecture until proven otherwise.
