New York Islanders defenseman Johnny Boychuk’s career has come to an end according to a team release.

On Wednesday the New York Islanders announced that defenseman Johnny Boychuk‘s career has come to an end. What that means isn’t quite clear yet.

This could mean that Johnny Boychuk could be officially retiring but it likely means that the 36-year-old (he turns 37 in January) will unofficially retire which means he will sit on LTIR until his contract comes to an end in two years.
