Ross Cockrell signing: Giants expected to add veteran cornerback

Multiple reports on Saturday night are indicating that the cornerback-needy New York Giants will be signing veteran cornerback Ross Cockrell. Art Stapleton of The Record had the news first.

Cockrell played for the Giants in 2017. He played in all 16 games, starting nine, and had a career-high three interceptions.

Cockrell signed a two-year free agent contract with the Carolina Panthers after leaving the Giants. He missed all of 2018 after suffering a broken left tibia and fibula during training camp. In 2019, Cockrell played in 14 games, starting 11, opposite James Bradberry.
