Former Giants’ player favorite for Lions head coaching job, per report

Current New Orleans Saints assistant head coach and tight ends coach Dan Campbell played for the New York Giants as a tight end from 1999-2002. He also played for the the Dallas Cowboys, Detroit Lions and New Orleans Saints.

Since retiring as a player, Campbell got into coaching and has been working up the ranks since joining the Dolphins in 2010 as an intern. He was also their tight ends coach from 2011-2015 and then their interim head coach in 2015 before being hired by the Saints in 2016.

Ian Rapoport and Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network are reporting that Campbell is the favorite to become the Detroit Lions next head coach.
