Bottled up
Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott's final stat line looked good on Sunday: 24 carries for 107 yards (4.5 ypc). But the Giants stuffed the MVP candidate in the second half, holding Elliott to nine carries for 21 yards while shutting out the Cowboys' offense.
Giants coach Ben McAdoo credited his team's rushing attack for winning the time-of-possession battle, but it was the defense that led the charge. Not including the quick-strike TD pass to Odell Beckham Jr. and the final kneel downs, the Giants had seven possessions that lasted two minutes or less and they went three-and-out seven times.
