With the NFL regular season over, several teams that missed the playoffs are surrounded by rumors. One of those teams is the 6-10 New York Giants. Tom Coughlin "stepped down" after the season ended. The Giants are in the process of searching for Coughlin's replacement, which means there are plenty of rumors floating around the team.
Here are the latest rumors surrounding the Giants' search for a new head coach.
Interviewing Gase And In-House Options?
The Giants aren't wasting any time in their coaching search and have set up interviews with two in-house options and requested an outside one.
The #Giants are moving fast on their interviews. They'll talk to Ben McAdoo & Spagnuolo. They've also just requested #Bears OC Adam Gase.

McAdoo is the team's offensive coordinator, and his highly thought of by the team. Spagnuolo is the defensive coordinator. His struggles as a head coach with Rams should be enough to prevent the team from hiring him. Gase is a popular candidate, and will likely interview with many teams.
Trading For A Coach?
The Giants aren't ruling out trading for a head coach, reports NJ.com.
"I wouldn't completely rule that out," said Mara, who also said the Giants haven't had that conversation. "There are a lot of good candidates yet."
If the team hasn't ruled out trading for a candidate, that likely means Sean Payton is a target. The Saints want a second round pick for Payton, if he leaves. No other head coaches have been rumored to leave, so it's Payton or bust trade-wise. Payton coached for the Giants from 1999-2002, so it'd be a homecoming of sorts.
