The New York Giants are looking for a new head coach after a lackluster 3-13 season. Defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo took over as the interim head coach once the Giants decided to fire Ben McAdoo in early December, but he isn't a candidate to keep the job on a permanent basis. Despite the bad season, the Giants have a lot to offer a new coach with a solid defense and the second overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft.

Giants Request To Interview Pat Shurmur
Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports that the Giants have put in a request to interview Minnesota Vikings offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.
The Vikings have been one of the surprise teams this season with a 13-3 record and a first-round bye in the playoffs. The offense lost quarterback Teddy Bridgewater last season due to a horrific leg injury and quarterback Sam Bradford this season, but the coaching of Shurmur has reignited quarterback Case Keenum's career. Not many offensive coordinators would be able to lose two quarterbacks and still be successful, but Shurmur has found a way.
Giants Get Permission To Interview Patriots Coordinators
On Monday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported the Giants have asked for permission to interview New England Patriots assistants Matt Patricia and Josh McDaniels.
According to Gary Myers of the New York Daily News, Patricia and McDaniels are options "1 and 1A" on Giants general manager Dave Gettleman's wishlist to become the team's next head coach.
Patricia is 43 years old and has never been a head coach in the NFL. However, he has spent his entire coaching career with New England, serving as an offensive assistant, offensive line coach, a linebackers coach, a safeties coach, and took over as the defensive coordinator in 2012.
McDaniels has rebuilt his reputation while leading the Patriots’ offense for the past five seasons after a less-than-successful head coaching debut in Denver. Perhaps he can bring some of the "Brady Effect" to a Giants team who may be looking for a new franchise quarterback.
Giants Request To Interview Steve Wilks
Gettleman also requested to interview Carolina Panthers defensive coordinator Steve Wilks, according to NFL Networks's Mike Garafolo. Garafolo also states that Gettleman and Wilks have a good relationship from their days together in Carolina.
Ian Rapoport also believes that Wilks is a name to monitor for the Giants head coaching job, especially if McDaniels and Patricia end up elsewhere.
A 48-year-old defensive coordinator, Wilks is in his first year in the role and also fills the Rooney Rule requirement.
Eric Studesville Interview On Friday
A new name has surfaced on Tuesday for the head coaching job of the Giants. Ian Rapoport reported that Denver Broncos running backs coach Eric Studesville will be interviewed on Friday.
The 50-year-old was the running backs coach for the Giants from 2001-2003 and then spent the next six years with the BIlls in the same role. Studesville has been with the Broncos since 2010 and for the final four games of the 2010 season, he served as interim head coach.
