The New York Giants have underperformed expectations in a major way in 2014, scuffling to a 3-7 record while currently riding a five-game losing streak.
With that firmly in mind, it looks like head coach Tom Coughlin's job security is currently in coin flip territory.
“As of today 50-50,” a source told Steve Serby of the New York Post in regards to Coughlin's current retention odds
Per Serby, "the source, who is familiar with the thinking of Giants organization, is under the growing impression this is shaping up as an agonizing decision that ultimately will be reached at the end of the season."
Tom Coughlin is fully embedded in the culture of the New York Giants and his contribution to the team's history is undeniable. However, it appears there is a growing schism in the team's front office regarding whether or not it's time for the Giants to break from the past and start anew.
Stay tuned.
