The New York Giants reportedly have some interest in disgruntled Buffalo Bills wideout Mike Williams, per Ralph Vacchiano of the New York Daily News.
"I said, 'We like Mike Williams. We expect him back and we expect big things from him,'" Bills general manager Doug Whaley said, via SBNation.com. "But like anybody, if he gets us compensation worthy of a No. 1 wide receiver -- which he claimed he is -- then we would entertain it.
"He's taken it as permission, but I see it as, anybody on this team, we have to do our due diligence, and if there's somebody out there that is willing to give us compensation that we think is fair, and would help us in the long run, we would entertain it. That doesn't say we're gonna do it, but we would entertain it."
With Victor Cruz out for the remainder of the 2014 season with a torn patellar tendon, the Giants could very well see Williams as an opportunity to revamp their receiving corps heading into the stretch run.
However, Williams has just eight catches this year for 142 yards and a TD and was deactivated for last week's Bills/Patriots game - warning signs that could end up scaring off the Giants off in the end.
