In NY Giants rumors tonight, the New York Giants could be looking to the 2014 NFL Draft as a way to perhaps draft an eventual successor to starting quarterback Eli Manning.
So says Sports World Report: "The front office could start thinking about the future, as the NFL draft in 2014 is deep at the QB position with Aaron Murray, Zach Mettenberger, David Fales, Derek Carr and Tajh Boyd as names that could be available."
As ESPN.com reports, Eli Manning just had arthroscopic surgery on his left ankle, and could be rehabbing the ankle through a fair portion of the NY Giants' offseason schedule.
He also had a very rough year in 2013 throwing 27 interceptions, and at the age of 33, is being perceived by many critics as being on the down slope of his career.
However, the NY Giants have made no indications that they would want to move on from Manning any time soon, making any potential quarterback that is drafted an instantaneous backup to the two-time Super Bowl winner.
