Patriots sign CB Marquice Cole (again), release Kanorris and Ja'Gared Davis

The Patriots' game of hot potato with CB Marquice Cole continues. Cole, a fourth-year cornerback out of Northwestern, has been released and re-signed three times already this season. To give you a little perspective on how often New England has shuffled Cole around, here's a timeline of his history with the Patriots, dating back to March 2012:

March 19th, 2012: Cole, a free agent, signs a one-year contract with New England after spending his first three NFL seasons with the New York Jets.

March 20th, 2012-March 19th, 2013: Cole accumulates 12 total tackles, three passes deflected, seven special teams tackles and one interception over the course of 14 games during the 2012 season.

March 20th, 2013: the Patriots re-sign Cole.

September 1st, 2013: Cole is released by the Patriots during final roster cuts.

September 2nd, 2013: The Patriots re-sign Cole.

September 3rd-September 26th: Cole plays on special teams in New England's first three games.

September 27th, 2013: The Patriots release Cole again.

October 1st, 2013: The Patriots re-sign Cole (again).

October 4th, 2013: Cole is released for the third time in just over a month.

October 7th, 2013: After special teams players Kanorris and Ja'Gared Davis are released, Cole is re-signed to the Patriots roster.

Today's signing is officially the fourth time the Patriots have signed Cole this year. Being shuffled around that many times can't be much fun, and we hope (for Cole's sake) that this time he sticks.
