The SEC has dominated the college football recruiting world over the past decade, and that didn't change this year as 12 schools will finish with classes ranked in the top-25 in the country. Here are the four schools that are the best of the best:
Alabama Crimson Tide (No. 1 in SEC, No. 1 in NCAA)
Alabama is no stranger to reeling in the best recruiting class in the country, and they did so again by bringing in more five-star prospects (six) than anyone else. Nick Saban made it a point to bring in as many high level secondary and offensive line recruits as he could, hoping to find some immediate support for the areas the Tide were the weakest last season.
Tennessee Volunteers (No. 2 in SEC, No. 4 in NCAA)
Butch Jones and the Volunteers made a major statement on National Signing Day, adding some more depth and talent to what was one of the youngest team in the country last season. Tennessee will bring in four high-level offensive linemen, a desperate area of need for this team, and landed six new commitments on signing day, led by five-star defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie.
LSU Tigers (No. 3 in SEC, No. 5 in NCAA)
LSU didn't make any big splashes on National Signing Day, but that's because Les Miles and his staff did all their work beforehand. The lone five-star in the class, CB Kevin Tolliver, is already on campus, but the 16 four-star signees will give the Tigers a ton of talented depth.
Auburn Tigers (No. 4 in SEC, No. 8 in NCAA)
Auburn drastically improved their defense and recruiting class with the somewhat surprising commitment of the nation's top prospect in Byron Cowart, as well as four-star linebacker Jeffery Holland. They did lose out on five-star OL Martez Ivey and DE CeCe Jefferson, but have still landed 18 four- or five-star prospects.
