At the beginning of this year, the Wall Street Journal released its valuation on the financial worth of the Top 50 football teams in the NCAA. The study was conducted by Ryan Brewer, an associate professor of finance at Indiana University-Purdue University Columbus, based on a model that took factors such as revenues and expenses, projected growth and risk assessments into account.
12 of 14 SEC teams made the NCAA Top 50.
1. (5th overall) Florida - $660.8 million
2. (7th) Alabama - $640.1 million
3. (8th) Georgia - $581.8 million
4. (9th) Auburn - $537.6 million
5. (10th) LSU - $529.8 million
6. (16th) Tennessee - $340.4 million
7. (17th) South Carolina - $331.6 million
8. (18th) Arkansas - $315.1 million
9. (21st) Texas A&M - $299.8 million
10. (34th) Ole Miss - $183.9 million
11. (37th) Kentucky - $162.9 million
12. (50th) Mississippi State - $102.0 million
Two teams did not make the NCAA Top 50. However, valuations from 2013 listed them at:
