If you've been following the LeBron saga on Twitter, you're aware by now that ESPN's Chris Broussard has not exactly covered himself in glory over the past week. Broussard's self-promotional, mistimed and abysmally incorrect Twitter posts have rubbed a number of writers and journalists the wrong way...and acclaimed basketball writer Jeff Pearlman spoke for much of the community when calling him out:
Right now on ESPN: watch Chris Broussard guess about sports.

ESPN is killin' it. By "killin' it" I mean choking any life out of NBA free agency. And it's ALL guessing. Argh

People will blame LeBron James for milking this before us all. DON'T. He's allowed to take time. It's 100% ESPN & Broussard bullshit bluster

35 minutes ago @Chris_Broussard reported Dan Gilbert letter was preventing LeBron from going to Cleveland. ZERO credibility. Zero. None. Zip

This is a crushing day for @espn. Crushing.

On the bright side, Chris Broussard was third to report on the Jarrett Jack trade ...

Admittedly, @chris_broussard's career covering NBA might be over. But I hear the 700 Club is looking for correspondents ...

Dear God. @chris_broussard's "sources"—wrong throughout—confirm LeBron's SELF-written confirmation is true. Blog post http://t.co/RGu0gTJIm3

Explaining my anger: I believe in reporting. Not for fame or attention. Because it's what journalists do. It fuels us. It makes stories.

Breaking news: ESPN's Chris Broussard reports Nick Young's first name is Nick.
