The AL arms race got a little crazy today, with Oakland adding Boston's Jon Lester and Detroit picking up Tampa Bay's David Price before the trade deadline hit.
Detroit's move for Price came with just minutes to go before the deadline, and according to MLB.com A's reporter Jane Lee, Detroit GM Dave Dombrowski sent Billy Beane a text message right after the move went final:
Re: Price to Tigers, Beane "had a feeling it was going to happen." Dombrowski jokingly texted, "You have 1 minute to acquire Chris Sale"

Sale, of course, is the White Sox ace with the lowest ERA in the American League. All things considered, the best reaction to the Price trade probably came from Oakland closer Sean Doolittle, though.
