7 Major League Baseball Prop Bets You Should Make Right Now

Major League Baseball and gambling are a match made in heaven -- unless, of course, your name is Pete Rose.

Regardless of all that, the time is now to survey the massive amounts of prop bets heading to the 2015 MLB season and pick out the 10 Major League Baseball Prop Bets You Should Make Right Now.

1. UNDER 43.5 home runs for MLB leader

Welcome to the new dead ball era, where a giant shifting strike zone and an assembly line of 95 mph-throwing hurlers terrorize MLB hitters. Nelson Cruz led baseball with 40 dingers last year, and it's very possible no one will even reach that plateau this year.

2. UNDER 125.5 RBIs for MLB leader

Same song, different chorus. Teams scored an average of just 4.07 runs per game in 2014 -- the least since the pre-divisional realignment days of 1981. Adrian Gonzalez led baseball with 116 RBIs in 2014. Is anyone really a threat to top that by a full 10 RBIs in this era?

3. OVER 258.5 strikeouts by MLB leader

There are more than a handful of candidates (Max Scherzer, Felix Hernandez, David Price, Corey Kluber, etc.) who could shatter this line, with Price and Kluber both having eclipsed the 258.5 line in 2014.

4. UNDER 6 complete games by MLB leader

Do you know who led baseball in complete games in 2014? Houston's Dallas Keuchel with 5. Dallas freakin' Keuchel. No other pitcher had more than 3. Here in the age of the over-specialized bullpen, you're safe taking the under.

5. UNDER 36.5 home runs for Miami's Giancarlo Stanton

There are very few MLB hitters who pitchers admit to being afraid of, both with their actions and their interviews. Baseball's first $300 million man is one of them. Stanton received a first-pitch strike just 50.5% of the time in 2015 -- good for the lowest percentage in all of the big leagues. Expect pitchers to pitch around him even more in 2015, cutting into Stanton's power numbers ever so slightly (say 32-34 bombs) and increasing his walk total into the 100s  for the first time in his MLB career.

6. OVER 17.5 wins for Los Angeles (Dodgers)' Clayton Kershaw

We suspect Clayton Kershaw's a half-robot, half-cannon. Somebody look in baseball's rule books and see that counts as a PED. Kershaw went 21-3 in 2015, and likely crazy run support + being Clayton Kershaw means you should take the over.

7. OVER 168.5 hits for Pittsburgh's Andrew McCutchen

McCutchen has eclipsed this line in each of his last three seasons. While his hit total actually steadily decreased from 2012-14, the four-time All-Star has the protection of a deep Pirates lineup that is a year older and a year better. He'll be on the shortlist for NL MVP once again in 2015, with 180-185 hits to boot.
