Daniel Toll grew up a Hurricanes fan in Miami and going to UM was “a dream” for him. But the Hurricanes basketball team did not really register on his sports radar as a young fan.
“Miami basketball’s really taken off over the past couple of years,” Toll said. “But in my lifetime, it hasn’t been that big of a deal. When I think of growing up, if you were to ask me what do you think of when you think of University of Miami athletics, No. 1, you think football and then No. 2, baseball, and a very distant third would be men’s basketball.
