Maryland gymnast Emma Silberman qualified for the NCAA championships after her stellar performance at the NCAA regionals in Gainesville, Florida.

Silberman is the first individual NCAA championship qualifier for Maryland since Jill Fisher and Gillian Cote, who both qualified in 2001.

Silberman earned a career-high score of 9.950 on vault, becoming the regional’s co-champion with Florida’s Victoria Nguyen. Her score was the second-highest vault mark in Maryland history and a program best at an NCAA regional.

The NCAA championships will be held in Fort Worth, Texas, from April 18-20.
