The Kansas City Royals are getting creative when it comes to addressing left field for the 2016 season and beyond. One scenario being floated? A trade for Cincinnati Reds' All-Star Todd Frazier.

Most fascinating tidbit I heard today: The Royals talked to the Reds about dealing for Todd Frazier. Presumably would play him in LF

After being priced out on Ben Zobrist and with the uncertainty surrounding Alex Gordon at the present moment, the Royals have been scouring the trade market for potential fits. Frazier would be one of the biggest blockbuster names currently available for trade talks, but it would take a monster trade package including two or more of the team's top prospects for the Reds to even consider an overture.
There have also been rumblings that the Royals are kicking the tires on free agent Jason Heyward, but the seven-year megadeal he's likely to command makes it nearly impossible that Kansas City will make a serious play for him.
Of 626 career games, Frazier has started in left field just 13 times. He hasn't played out there since 2013 when he was shifted out into the corner for two games. However, he's blossomed as a power hitter (with a career-high 35 home runs) and would be a middle-of-the-order stalwart with two years of team control left on his deal.
We've have more on this story as additional information is made available.
