The Kansas City Royals remained zeroed in on free agent Melky Cabrera when it comes to plugging their current hole in the outfield.
According to CBS Sports' Jon Heyman, Cabrera tops the team's wishlist at the present moment:
royals still hoping for melky to fill OF hole. if not, aoki, rasmus, rios on radar.

For Cabrera, the sticking point might be a fourth year. The Seattle Mariners reportedly offered Cabrera a three-year deal, while the Baltimore Orioles appears willing to go to 2-3 years themselves.
If the Kansas City Royals indeed want to pull ahead as favorites in the race to land Cabrera, they may have to pony up for a fourth year in order to get a deal done.
Cabrera hit .301 with 16 home runs and an .808 OPS in 139 games for the Toronto Blue Jays in 2014. He turned down a one-year, $15.3 million qualifying offer from the club, thus meaning that any team who signs him will have to forfeit a draft pick in order for any deal to get done.
