The Kansas City Royals have signed free agent outfielder Alex Rios to a one-year deal worth $11 million, per a report by Jon Heyman of CBS Sports:

According to the team's official Twitter, the deal includes a mutual option for 2016:
#Royals officially sign OF Alex Rios to a one-year deal with a mutual option for 2016. He hit .280 with 30 2B and 8 3B last year with Texas.

With the likelihood increasing that the Royals will not re-sign Nori Aoki, Rios appears slated to be the team's starting right fielder in 2015.
The Royals lost Billy Butler, their designated hitter last season, to the Oakland A's in free agency. However, with the additions of switch-hitting DH Kendrys Morales and Rios, the Royals appear as potent as ever from a lineup standpoint.
