There was little scoring, but the Jacksonville Jaguars will take a win anyway they can get one. The Jaguars scored their first and only touchdown of the game with 3:30 left to go. It was enough to propel them to a 16-13 comeback victory over the Tennessee Titans. Ten of Jacksonville's points came in the final four minutes.
The Jaguars' lone touchdown was set up by a wonderful punt return by Rashad Green. He took the punt 63 yards down to the Titans' five yard line. QB Blake Bortles then found TE Julius Thomas on the very next play for the game-winning score.
The Titans had a chance to mount a comeback drive of their own, but tight end Philip Supernaw fumbled on the first play of the drive. The Titans held the Jags to a field goal, but were unable to score the game-tying score in the final 2:19. The Titans reached the 23-yard line of the Jaguars with five seconds left, but Mariota was sacked.
Bortles had a solid game, completing 21 of 30 passes for 242 yards and a TD. He also threw a pick in the red zone in the fourth quarter, but it ended up not hurting the Jags. Bortles didn't get much help from his running game, as Jacksonville picked up just 90 yards on 23 carries.
WR Allen Robinson and Thomas were the top two targets for Bortles. Robinson caught five passes on seven targets for 113 yards. Thomas led the team in targets with eight, catching five of them for 28 yards and the TD.
Mariota finished the game 22 of 35, with 231 yards. He added 25 yards on the ground. TE Delaine Walker was his favorite target, as he reeled in eight passes for 109 yards.
The first half featured nothing but field goals, with both teams hitting two. The Jaguars took their first lead of the game on their third field goal of the day mid-way through the third quarter. QB Marcus Mariota accounted for the Titans' only touchdown of the game, taking a read option for a 23-yard touchdown run in the third quarter.
The Jaguars improve to 4-6 with the win, while the Titans drop to 2-8. With the win, the Jaguars kept themselves in contention for the AFC South crown. The Titans play the Raiders next Sunday, while the Jaguars face off against the San Diego Chargers.
