CHAMPAIGN — Bill Cubit plans to be at the Illinois football offices at 9 a.m. Sunday. With a recruiting trip to Texas scheduled for Monday.
“It’s all about these kids,” Cubit said after Wednesday’s practice. “I want them to go out in style. The only control we’ve got is getting them prepared, so that’s what I’m doing.
“The only approach I can take is I’m going to be here.”
Illinois interim athletic director Paul Kowalczyk told WSJK radio on Wednesday that a decision on Cubit’s future will be made within 24 hours of the end of Saturday’s game against Northwestern.
