The first game between ranked teams of the weekend went to the underdog.
The Oklahoma Sooners traveled to NRG Stadium to take on the Houston Cougars, and they appeared to have control of the game early as they quickly built a 10-3 lead, thanks to a 33-yard touchdown run from running back Joe Mixon.
However, Houston would fight back with a string of field goals and defensive stops, and led 19-17 at the half.
Oklahoma was set to retake the lead in the third quarter as they prepared to attempt a long field gold, but then this happened:
Brandon Wilson returned the missed field goal 109 yards for the touchdown, giving the Cougars all of the momentum while extending the lead.
Yet the Cougars weren't done yet. After forcing a fumble on Oklahoma's next drive, Houston punched it into the end zone again on the next drive, giving them the 33-17 lead.
Baker Mayfield threw his second touchdown pass to Mark Andrews with just 2:05 remaining in the fourth quarter, but the two-point conversion failed. Houston recovered the ensuing onside kick, allowing them to hold on for the win.
Houston will play Lamar at home next weekend, while Oklahoma will try to get their first win of the season as they host UL-Monroe.
