CHARLOTTE — Only seven teams in NBA history have produced four All-Stars in the same season. Only three of those have come since the turn of the century: the 2006 Detroit Pistons, the 2011 Boston Celtics and, quite randomly, the 2015 Atlanta Hawks.
The trend there: All three were in the Eastern Conference, where the talent pool has been slimmer for some time. No Western Conference team has had four All-Stars since the Lakers in 1998.
But this week, the Warriors can end that drought. Kevin Durant and Stephen Curry have already been named All-Star starters. The reserves, voted on by the coaches, will be announced on Thursday.
