Matt Barnes was perplexed when, during a recent trip to New York, he was invited to a team dinner. When he found his Warriors teammates and coaches gathered at the upscale restaurant in Manhattan, Barnes asked point guard Shaun Livingston if this was a regular occurrence.
“Yeah, man,” Livingston told him. “We do this all the time.”
One of only four active NBA players to have been on nine teams clubs, Barnes is well-schooled on the business side of basketball. Golden State is the rare place where teammates are more friends than co-workers.
