The Golden State Warriors didn't play their best basketball by far in their 106-92 victory over the usually hapless New York Knicks at Madison Square Garden on Saturday night, and All-Star guard Stephen Curry knows that.
"Regardless of the score at the end of the night, it's all about better in the process of being playoff ready when that time comes," Curry said after the game, via CSN Bay Area. "If we play like we did tonight in the playoffs, we're not going to go anywhere."
Curry pitched in 22 points and 6 rebounds on Saturday, but it was a struggle all night long for the Warriors to get their energy up enough to put away a shorthanded and hapless Knicks team playing without Carmelo Anthony.
“That was tough to watch," head coach Steve Kerr said. "We were horrible.
"The last three minutes we decided to guard, we shut them down and avoided disaster," he added. "I will chalk this up to mental fatigue. Four (games) in five nights and going across the country, we were running out of energy with our brains and our hearts. They really outplayed us.”
