Georgia's disappointing overtime loss to rival Georgia Tech ended the Bulldogs's slim playoff hopes, but they will still attend one of the country's best bowl games. Who are the most likely to face to close the season?
Michigan State
The Spartans don't have a chance to make the playoff, but they're still one of the best teams in the country. They're alive for one of the four New Year's Bowls that aren't reserved for the playoff, and that figures to be where Georgia lands. These two teams play similar styles and could meet in either the Cotton Bowl or the Peach Bowl.
Baylor
Baylor is another likely candidate for the Cotton Bowl, though the Bears might be in line to face a team ranked higher than the Bulldogs. That being said, their high-powered passing offense would be fun to watch against Georgia's outstanding running game.
Nebraska
If Georgia falls too far in the standings, they could find themselves in the Outback Bowl. That's not one of the four New Year's Bowls they're eligible for, but it's still a good consolation prize. The Cornhuskers would likely be waiting for them in that game after finishing the season with an identical 9-3 record, creating an intriguing matchup between two of the best running backs in the country - Nebraska's Ameer Abdullah and Georgia's Nick Chubb.
