Usually, there is little or no sense of urgency in the spring, a more relaxing time for football where the focus is on fundamentals and player development instead of getting ready for a game every week.
But in the case of true freshman middle linebacker David Reese, there is a feeling among the Florida coaches and defensive players that they need to do everything they can to get him ready to play. Now.
With the overall lack of depth at linebacker — and the absence of a true and healthy middle linebacker (other than Reese) this spring — there is a sense of urgency to get Reese coached up and good to go for the fall because the Gators are probably going to need him.
