Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy wants the Florida head coaching job and has let UF know that, according to a report from 247Sports.
Gundy has led the Cowboys to a 82-43 record in his 10 seasons with the school, and led them to a Big 12 title, Fiesta Bowl win and No. 2 national ranking in 2011. He also won Big 12 Coach of the Year in 2010.
However, Oklahoma State has struggled to a 5-5 record this season and have lost four games in a row.
Gundy has no ties to Florida - in fact, he is an Oklahoma State alum. He played quarterback for the Cowboys from 1986-1989 and was an assistant coach there until 1995, when he left to become the QB coach at Baylor.
Gundy returned to Stillwater as the offensive coordinator in 2001 and became the head coach in 2005.
Florida announced last Monday that head coach Will Muschamp would not return next year. The Gators are 6-4 on the season, but are 3-4 in the SEC.
