Florida has already let go of head coach Will Muschamp, but the Gators will still be going bowling this postseason. They may be going to the bowl game fans would have hoped before the season, but there's still the potential for a great matchup. Who are they most likely to face?
Duke
Two straight losses for the Blue Devils have dropped them down the ACC rankings, but are still in position to go to the Belk Bowl in Charlotte. While the Blue Devils might not draw the fan interest some other teams will, they will provide the Gators with the best game and give UF a relatively good chance to win.
Virginia Tech
The Hokies had to win their last game of the season to become bowl eligible and have a large following. A Florida-Virginia Tech matchup would certainly draw a lot of fan and television interest and give the Gators a chance to test themselves against a big-time team with big-time talent. This is a good option for both the Music City Bowl and the Independence Bowl, though the Music City Bowl will likely go with Tennessee over Florida.
West Virginia
Florida will likely go to one of the many ACC vs. SEC bowls, but another option is the Liberty Bowl, which would pit them against a Big 12 team. Their representative in that game will probably be West Virginia, who has proven to be an inconsistent team so far this season. However, their explosive offense would pair well with Florida's tough defense, and would create one of the better matchups of the bowl season.
