This weekend, four-star Deerfield Beach (FL) wide receiver Cavin Ridley announced that he would delay his stated June 22nd commitment date, throwing into question the notion that the Florida Gators have emerged as his unquestioned favorite following a visit to Gainesville.
However, Ridley says that's not the case.
“Florida is still there,” he said. “I still want to be a Florida Gator, but I want to take it a little slower.”
In addition, Ridley also had a very good conversation with Florida wide receiver coach Kerry Dixon in recent days.
“We are still on the same page,” Ridley said of his relationship with Dixon. “He was telling me that they really want me there. He told me it’s okay I’m not rushing into anything. He actually told me he wants me to take my time.”
Other potential major challengers for Ridley's signature are Alabama, Ohio State, Auburn and Florida State.
