Coach Jim McElwain is hard at work on making the Gators incoming recruiting class better - let's take a look at Saturday's latest...
Byron Cowart
As many of you already know, Cowart is a five-star DE from Seffner, FL who 247 Sports rates as the best strong-side defensive end in the class of 2015. Cowart has been trending towards Florida for some time, and we're hearing it's all but official at this point. While he'll visit Auburn and Florida State before national signing day on February 4, UF remains the heavy favorite.
The Randy Shannon Effect
Shannon was hired on January 5, but he's already making his presence felt on the recruiting trail. Shannon has already extended an offer to Rayshad Jackson, a three-star prospect from Miami, and his ties to the Miami area will no doubt lead to more offers before the 2015 recruiting class is finalized.
Ryan Davis
Davis - a four-star WR from Lakewood High in Saint Petersburg - is another uncommitted prospect trending heavily towards Florida in recent weeks. While FSU and Auburn are still in play, Gators receivers coach Chris Leak has made Davis one of his top priorities...and it sounds very much like Davis has responded well.
